Black History Month is more than a celebration—it's a reminder of the power of faith in action and the unshakable pride that comes from knowing our history. For many in our urban communities, this month is an opportunity to reflect, learn, and inspire.

Why February?

Ever wonder why Black History Month is in February? Dr. Carter G. Woodson, known as the "Father of Black History," chose this month to honor the birthdays of two heroes—Abraham Lincoln, who led the fight to end slavery, and Frederick Douglass, an abolitionist who taught us the importance of freedom and education. They remind us that fighting for justice often starts with faith and action.

Faith That Builds Legacies

From Harriet Tubman, whose deep faith guided her to lead hundreds to freedom, to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., whose belief in God fueled his dream for equality—Black history is full of faith-driven leaders who moved mountains. Their trust in God and courage remind us that our struggles today are part of a greater story.

Here at The Jesus Show, we celebrate these examples of faith in action. They show us that whether you're navigating school, work, or life’s challenges, leaning on God can help you rise above.

More Than Just the Past

Knowing Black history gives us pride. It teaches us that we come from a line of innovators, leaders, and visionaries who refused to let circumstances define them. It opens doors for a future where your voice and actions matter. Celebrating Black history isn't about looking back—it's about moving forward with strength, wisdom, and purpose.

Your Story Is Still Being Written

As Team Jesus, we believe everyone has a role to play. Like those who came before us, you can make a difference. Whether you're creating music, starting a business, or showing love in your community, your actions matter.

This Black History Month, let’s honor the past, take pride in who we are, and walk boldly in faith toward the future. Remember, God can use you to make history—right here, right now.
